This style of TF2-movies usually entertain me the most. I really like the relaxed, easy-on-the-eye style that you have adapted and developed Chris but I did feel you could\'ve spent some more time on the music, it did feel repetitive over a time span of ten minutes. Not that I didn\'t like it, I liked the music very much. Just that it felt like the same beat over and over again.

That is really the only downside of it, I feel that everything else was in good harmony.
Also why do you (morf) choose to do the majority of your editing in after effects? I\'ve started working with both so I understand the advantages ae has over vegas, but for compiling and syncing clips vegas just seems so much more effective.
I really don\'t have a good answer for this question, I learned After Effects first and haven\'t really put down the effort in learning Sony Vegas at all. So my choice is probably influenced by that :)
Do any of you video guys own genuine licenses for the software you use? :P
As I am a student of a school that is high-profiled in media and design, we get huge discounts on Adobe products. And as I thought the price was more reasonable, I bought a genuine license yes.
Is it recommend to first compile and sync all the clips and then work on the colours etc?
I wouldn\'t recommend a workflow as long as it\'s working for you. It comes down to your hardware at times though, processing videos á la 5 GB for a seven minute video is hard work for your dear computer. I always edit the clips when they are lossless, e.g. do it all at once which gives me complete freedom of doing whatever I like.
Morf, you mind sharing your colour correction in your latest videos? Or from complexity frag movie, cause those colours were trully amazing :)
Ah :) I don\'t have access to the project file for the compLexity movie, but I can take a look and see what I can find the next time I can.
[...] Dont you get some sound desync when recording at that high framerate?
I haven\'t noticed any unsynced footage no.
Yep can confirm you get desync if you record from PLDX with 960 fps. On that topic, do you know what the highest fps you can record from the pldx and not get desync?
I\'ll look further into this, thanks for the information.

I can\'t really give you an answer as I haven\'t started working with the PldX-tool until recently. I think decap is better off asking this.
I believe when recording in tga format the audio is recorded completely separately (which is why you need to compile the two together in vdub after). I might be wrong though but that seems like the easiest way to keep the two in sync.
Yeah that is correct.

[quote=253303My question, Is it ever acceptable to fast forward footage between frags?

oh and do you know who David Fincher is?
I do not prefer it over a transition but yeah, as long as you mute the audio so you don\'t hear the fast-forwarded sounds. That\'s just awful.

Umm, the director? Yeah sure.
One other question. When choosing music to use do you try to pick music with/without lyrics specifically? I don\'t think either of you have any movies with many lyrics included in the audio. Is this for a reason or did it just turn out that way?
No that is purely coincidence.
What do you think about recording at a higher resolution, and then using image resizing (lanczos3 vdub for example) to get that added \"sharpness\"
What? Makes no sense to me. I haven\'t heard of lanczos3 or this method, care to give me an example?
