boX? Squad 1 (Div5) beating team empathy (div2) at i38 to finish 3rd in the prize money tournament would be proof it can be done.
Yes they only had 3 of there normal lineup but we still had to beat them nonetheless. This is just an example of a weaker team beating a better team who did not field there strongest lineup.
(ps we actually won money due to beating them even tho multiplay havn\'t payed up yet :p)

We had problems with 4 teams in our division this season, 1 was through being awkward in a simular situation to that of the first example in this topic, and the other 3 were simply them not paying any attention to our match fixture page, getting to the date and then trying to make out they contacted us or vice versa, one even made up a chat log!!!!

Impose warnings (maybe deductions) on teams who have shown very little in communication regarding arranging the match fixture page (if a complaint has been made etc). If any arrangements have been made it should be added to the match fixture page including chat logs etc and if someone has lied or made it up it gives people time to then react to it and contact an admin.

Key Point Here* Unfortunatly it does not matter what we do there will always be people who quite simply are just too lazy to arrange games or are indeed after default wins. All you can do to protect yourselves is to record everything on your fixture page.

Admins* I would like admins to use fixture pages a bit better, 2 of the games we had problems with I had left several comments on the page when arranging our games and our opponents had clearly not left a single message, when actually contacting an admin about these games I still had the \"what have they said, when did they agree\" etc etc. Sorry but its pretty clear to me looking from outside in, that it was me that made the effort to arrange and not my opponents. this of course is only relevant if such a rule could be imposed to use those fixture pages more often.

Regardless of if anything changes, if in doubt remember, chat logs can be changed but if u get it on your fixture at least the info is there for an admin to read and see you are not lying. Protect yourselves!!! ;)

Well from a personal point of view I\'ve never experianced TF2 as competitive as it is now (from a low+ skill bracket). My team can play several wars an evening with no problems getting them and they are always different opponents! It may not be the big fish like css etc but I look around at the gaming scene and I dont see another team based FPS that I can be as active in outside css, its why I still play TF2 and cant see that changing for a fair while.

ps over 300 signups for this seasons etf2l makes me feel happy about the game I play atm.

I can understand we have a lack of \'big\' teams to drive the game forward in terms of sponsorship and coverage, on that I agree but in relation to this topic, \"is TF2 dead\", the answer I have to say is very much no :)

’skilled’ players not getting to thrash easy teams so they can brag about how good they are,

The \"problem\" was that there wasn\'t going to be a close final, there isn\'t even. So basically, they\'re complaining about not being able to play a HARDER game, as opposed to easy ones. On paper, superior cows are the only team to challenge special7mix (maybe excluding something like gravelpit, which ends up totally random anyway). Believe me, constantly rolling games gets seriously boring >_>

Ok then either dont enter a \'fun\' tournament then which obviously a lot of poor teams will enter OR stop making posts like this which will dissuade people from coming , which in turn will only ruin any tournaments in the future.

My beef with this whole thread is that this whole thing is making TF2 look more like a thread you would find on a CSS forum somewhere. Any non TF2 player reading this will not be encouraged one bit to get involved with the game. How about just stfu and make some worthwhile suggestions which benefit the WHOLE community, those of all skill level and allow the admins to make sure they get it right next time.

Awwwww I almost feel like shedding a tear, \'skilled\' players not getting there own way, \'skilled\' players not getting to thrash easy teams so they can brag about how good they are, \'skilled\' players who think they are the only one\'s with the right to play the game, oh and my favourite, \'skilled\' players who claim to support the TF2 community and give TF2 the recognition it needs.

Skilled players who claim to support the TF2 community and yet because things havn\'t gone there way they choose to flame about a lan who organized a FUN tournament for EVERYONE to play in, yes everyone (that includes us \'crap\' players).

I will agree, this tournament was ran very poorly, but I know that for the next series they wont make the same mistake again.

Just to add.....Anyone reading this who didn\'t attend this i-series but is thinking about it in the future I do hope this does not put you off, I do hope that you ignore the whiners who love themselves too much.

The fun part is, BoX is #1 seeded, because they won their group with like 10-0 and 17-0. The thing was they had really newb opponents.

Guess where they are now, got raped in the upperbracket by some newbs and are about to lose the loserbracket match as well against some other newbs. Well played admins ))

Losing 5 - 3 is being raped these days? damn mebbe you should come play with us newbs sometimes, might understand the word fun :)

Difference is m8, when boX? lose we smile about it, not go running crying to mummy.
