Allow the GRU, they\'re the best thing that happened to this game since the introduction of custom crosshairs!
The availability argument is just, but think about it: how many more heavies are there really gonna be? There\'s probably already more GRUs around then there are players within the etf2l, moreso hw players. You can even borrow them from teammates for matches with the new trade system.
There\'s really no need to go another season without the heavy being a valueable extra class on all maps.
The GRU are not about needlessly buffing the heavy, they\'re about making him playable competitively again (finally).
Especially since cp_well was removed, there\'s only gravelpit left for him - do we really want the heavy to perish from the game we all love?

I think I am getting the same problem, although I am not sure if i understood yours correctly. What I am getting is some sort of skipping, as if i was playing with insanely high mouse accel.
I haven\'t really figured out when exactly it starts to occur, nor do I have any idea why, however I have experimented a bit and am starting to get a hold of it.
First off: which Windows are you running? (I run Vista x64)
Here are some ideas:
- Try different usb rates (250/500/1000hz)
- Try different usb ports on your mainboard
- Use different surfaces (and/or clean them)
- Clean the lens of your mouse\'s tracker (q-tips work fine)
- Try various settings in the drivers (some can override windows settings)
- Sometimes the problem disappears for me after a reboot

I found out that the most reliable setup for me and my MX518 is the following: Setpoint (DPI locked to 1600, setpoint standard in games) and usb rate at 250hz.

Hope this helps:)

I\'ll keep it short: There is a certain amount of pricks in every community, moreso, apparently, in gaming communities. You\'re better off just not letting yourself get in a position, where you need to care about them.
On the matter itself: A premiership is the logical consequence of the situation being as it is - namely that there are 4-5 teams playing on a completely different level within division 1. And it has been like that for at least 3 seasons. I don\'t see how anyone could have possibly missed that.

Lol, I actually just visited that Saturn Store on Mariahilfer Strasse. They also have quite a lot of mice at the Saturn in the Millenium city that I tried.
Yes, the Sidewinder X8 seems like a nice mouse with high DPI and decent scape. It is wireless however and I\'m a bit sceptical about such mice.
I haven\'t been able to test the Gigabyte mouse in any store so far. Maybe Media markt has it ?

Mamba and X8 can both be used with cable. I\'d never use a wireless mouse for gaming either, but they worked around that nicely, you can just un/plug them on the fly (It said so in various reviews at least).
If you\'re dead serious about trying out the Gigabyte you can always order it at amazon.de and send it back within 2 weeks to get your money back. I haven\'t done that yet, since I wasn\'t eager enough to try it to go through the fuzz:).

The new line of sidewinder mice is pretty interesting too, I\'d definitely consider the X8, especially since cost is of no matter to you. I played with the previous sidewinder mouse for a year and the shape is just perfect for me.
If you\'re still in Vienna, the Saturn on the Mariahilfer Straße has most gaming mice on display, so you can go try em out there. I\'d just buy whatever mouse fits your hand best and has a decent sensor.
Also, I\'ve only heard good things about the Roccat Kone, so you might wanna think about that one too, as it certainly is among the most technically advanced mice on the market.
The Gigabyte Mouse is indeed interesting, but judging from the pics I\'ve seen so far its shape isn\'t likely to fit many people. I haven\'t held it in my hand though yet.

While I really appreciate the idea of a community lan, and the effort you put into organizing this event, there is a reason why teams that are not among the top teams in europe are not that eager to come to the lan.
There are 54 pcs, assuming they all work all the time, 9 teams can play simultaneously. Given the nature of the game, 6 people cannot engage in a 6v6. So if you don\'t make it far in any of the tournaments, which is likely since the teams most inclined to come are the very best in europe, chances are you don\'t get to play much.
While the hanging out with your tf2 buddies part is great and all, it\'s not really all people come to LANs for. They want to fool around on public servers, play some crazy games that are most fun if you play with people sitting next to you and download some serious porn at the end of the day. You won\'t attract that crowd with a TUP only lan. And since that crowd still makes up the majority of the TF2 community, the label community LAN may be a bit misleading.
The LAN itself is a great thing for the top teams, they get to meet and compete in a different environment, but for people other than this select few, there\'s just not much in it.

Bash: If teams/players think of ETF2L as the main competition, its rules will determine their behavior. While this was true for the past year, it may have shifted towards ukesa now and since they have locked rosters and people pay to play things probably will change anyway.

I agree with Redah, as far as player/roster rules are concerned, rules should be coherent between leagues. As for maps, I am totally pro-choice. Teams should be entitled to have homemaps.

Edit: Reading through the thread, I see some of this has been brought up already. If you don\'t care reading through this wall of text -> locked rosters +9000

Something has to be done to keep people from mindlessly switching teams mid-season. I understand that some of the player fluctuation - especially in the higher divisons - this season was caused by the start of the ukesa season, nevertheless this is a recurring issue, that surfaced in previous seasons as well. I am talking of course about phemonena like players playing for three or more different teams over the course of a single season, or teams which start the season with one lineup and end it with a completely different lineup.
I won\'t name players or teams here, since it\'s not really necessary, but I\'m pretty sure things like that happened in each and every division.
The reasons why this is a problem are numerous, I shall name a few:
- It\'s unfair towards consistent teams.
- Luring away players can cause teams to disband, which in turn can affect the whole division.
- The teambuilding element of the game is belittled. If a team has a weak phase, it\'s easier to disband and join other teams, than to work through it together. This of course causes a chain reaction, effectively changing the lineup of several teams.
- As a result of this many teams fold prematurely, leaving divisions scrambled and disbalanced - what\'s the point in playing in a division with four dropped teams and one exceedingly stronger team?

What we need to solve this issue is a fixed set of rules for player transfers, that is executed rigidly as well.
For example the season could be extended to 18 weeks (leaving the current 10 team structure intact - so teams play each other twice), with a transfer window after the ninth week, during which teams are allowed to change a certain amount of players.
Hopefully, this would cause people to think twice before they join/leave a team, and lead to more consistency within the divisions.

On a side note for those, who like to wave their fingers and say \"it\'s just a game. don\'t take it so seriously.\" at this point: Of course it\'s just a minor social commitment we\'re talking about. No one can force you to show up for league matches anymore than they can force you to show up for football practice. Still you\'ll show. Why? Because it sucks to let people down.
