I agree with BvD. While the some shots were impressive, there was minimal air control by any opponents or any of the featured players whilst scoring.

I think a bball video, for the most part, showcase some impressive shots, standard airs, and impressive scoring. This coming while playing against people with an understanding of bball (people that can airstrafe, airshot and play well).

Editing was nice though.

You can\'t create multiple instances of tf2 in the manner of the post that Grem linked to.

The best way that I\'ve found to make two instances of TF2 (one for gaming, one for movie making) is using a method written by Kluniq in his movie gui found here Included in his gui is his bat & .reg files he uses to switch between game/movie making.

Just edit the reg files to have your own launch options for each, and if you want to launch the game from the bat file as well, just add the lines below to his bat files.

cd C:Program FilesSteam
start steam.exe -applaunch 440

Personally, I\'ve compiled the bat and reg files into an exe with the tf2 icon. Pretty easy, simplest way is finding a commercial converter if you lack the skill to compile your own exe. Then I just use those exe files to launch the separate instances.

You can just save the movie files etc to the large hard drive. That would be the easiest way. Although through scripting you probably could make change the default movie save dir.

I agree the fast forward blur was used far too much. The first use was too long. I know it was intended to preserve the timeline, but it took away from the movie.

Some good airshots but a lot of clips didn\'t need to be included. Less Kritz, more impressive runs/shots.

Overall an alright first attempt, really liked the intro.

A handy guide/link can be found on GotFrag here (I know it\'s for CS, but most things translate). I\'ve updated the movie config that the author shares for TF2, and it has some very handy features. A link to the updated config is here It\'s pretty handy, easy 24 bind movie files at 1 keypress, framerate adjustments on the fly, demo control speed, and all cheat related goodies (HUD removal, Wireframe, etc)

The best advice I can give is work in windowed mode at the same resolution your movie will be in to view the demo and make the targas (1280x720 for me) with maxed graphical settings. Also be sure to set host_framerate before you use startmovie (I use 90), use startmovie for targa\'s only (skip avi), make the clip in Virtualdub using the huffy codec and matching the framerates. Lastly, definitely encode using x264, XVid is okay but I find x264 to give better quality.
