Any idea how long we still can wait ? :) Like a number of tickets sold already?
At previous events, even when it\'s essentially sold out, there\'s a bit of turnover. People have RL issues and can no longer attend and ask for refunds - when it\'s less than 30 days to go, these refunds only go through if somone else is willing to buy a ticket. So the numbers sort of \"bob along\" near, but not quite at, sold out.

Of course, if you wait too long after the seat picker comes out (it\'s not out yet) you might not get to sit near your mates...

where do you fart the 5 sponsored teams from? I can only see tcm+infused+epsilon that might get lan fundings.

but either way boosting the general price money with the donations would probably do the same and be much easier than sending 1-2 more prem teams in there.
I haven\'t talked to a single person whose decision on whether or not to go to LAN would be affected by the presence of a high-skill team that they aren\'t friends with. If the objective is to boost the prize fund, you\'d be better either a) putting the money into the fund directly, or b) funding lower-skill UK-based teams, since they\'re less likely to want things like hotel rooms or plane tickets and so would be much more economical.

After a quick look, 5 teams in the prem div of season 12 are obviously sponsored; not only does that mean they are more likely to have money for events (either due to direct injection or because of money saved by not buying kit), but it also means those teams have a responsibility to get their sponsor\'s name out there by attending events.

Also, don\'t forget this was always going to be a quiet event. Certainly my community, which struggled to field a team for i45, is currently looking like it might field 4 for i46, and at least one of them won\'t be a div7 mix team.

a) codec bitrate isn\'t the be-all and end-all, since it depends on the codec used
b) in any case, the high-bandwidth codec (SILK) used in skype tops out at 40kbits/s
c) the implementation is key. TF2 in-game voice is also SILK, as of last April. Anyone here honestly think the in-game tf2 speech is comparable to skype?

It\'s possible, but the bots don\'t decode the audio (they just forward it on) so they aren\'t coded to do it.

basically, as it stands the bots have no way to authorise with a server. For the eavesdropper, this isn\'t hard to fix (it just needs one client certificate, would take ~2 minutes to patch that into the bot code)

But there\'s a non-fixed number of mimic-bots, and ideally you want them to be named like the real person, so you can\'t use certificates. This means that each mimic bot is, as far as the server is concerned, the same as every other user (unless manually moved/unmuted by admins).

This means that, if they can talk, you can talk. If you can hear them, you can hear other people in the same channel as them. And if they can join a particular channel, you can join it too.

Next version will let the bots use access tokens, which is what lets you create \"password protected channels\" and the like. That will solve the problem. ETA unknown.

No. To put the casters on 90 seconds delay we'd need relay bots. Relay bots aren't authed so can't have special permissions to speak.

We could make it work with a few special conditions:
- No longer have the "talk to your friends while listening" channels
- Have everyone in the root channel again, with the caster-relay-bots unmuted manually

Pausing/unpausing with the streamers on 90 seconds delay is going to be weird for the stv users as well ;)
tl;dr I need to work on channel passwords (\"access tokens\") for the bots :/
