Right so ive never had this problem until after the GUI update. Now when i launch tf2 i get up the grey box saying “Team Fortress 2 is preparing to launch…” and it just hangs there. Ive tried updating windows, updating drivers, restarting steam, restarting my computer, deleting clientreg.blob and restarting, Defragging, verifying integ of game cache.

I looked at the steam support page for this and it was predictably useless. Any ideas?

Im on vista 32 bit in case it matters.

Delete *everything* out of the launch options.
Play with a default config.
Try uninstalling tf2 and trying again.

Yeah i removed my config and launch options and it worked. Put my config back in and it was fine. How odd. Cheers for that.
