Already combed through the forums and varied many cvars, but apparently didn’t make a find. The topic name hints at my problem:

That’s caused by mat_bumpmap 0 whilst using dx9. Either switch to dx8 or mat_bumpmap 1. :)

He’s not talking about the AA, he’s talking about the bumpmapping issue (white shine) on the scout, which is caused by what I said in my first post.

It’s zero, and I can’t change it (regarded as cheat as stated in console).

It’s something that has to do with bump-mapping. Just start changing some cvars :P
