Also its a component that can be used over multiple builds. It increases the life of the cpu and its just nice to have the peace of mind that your cpu is cooler. For £7 I wouldnt say its necessary, in but its not something to disregard instantly.

You generally don’t use them in new builds because most of the time they wont fit on the new sockets. Increase the life of the CPU? Really? They last over 20 years anyway.

I have the stock fan and the i5, i can stream and render etc without my cpu not going over 40-50 degrees. I would say that buying an extra fan if your not going to OC is useless.

Grats2U. What size/model case do you have? Does your house sometimes get particularly warm? Is your tower case tucked in the corner on the room? What graphics card do you have? What rendering software do you use? Is your motherboard ATX/other? How many active SATA devices do you have?

I would say that point blank dismissing the need for a CPU cooler is useless.

Nah I can’t recommend this pc. You can get much better specs for same price, if you build yourself.

Stock coolers are fine.

Lol, the classic /thread. The reply of the ultimate tosspot. Please get a clue.

If nothing else, it’s worth it just for the eliminating the painful noise of the stock fan when your CPU is under load (which it might well be during rendering). Rendering can be a relaxing endeavour, not if it sounds like someone is revving up a ford mustang next to your ear drum.

So basically i need first to find good motherboard (heard gigabyte, asus, ashrock are good, but which one?)
Then i decided to buy intel i5 3570k cpu, decided to buy nvidia graphic card, but dont know which will be good enought.
I need good case, heard there are new soundproof cases with good airflow(need know how much it will cost for me)
how big psu i should buy for it?600W enough?

I have never heard the word tosspot before, did you mean a drunkard, a masturbator, or an objectionable person? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tosspot).

The reason I say /end thread is because there is really no discussion to be had, stock coolers are fine. The CPU isn’t gonna explode if he puts it to heavy work. If don’t agree that this is a fact, I’m out of here. If you do, then there is no discussion, so why am I a tosspot?

Noise is something else, if noise is a problem for OP then he should look to get a silent CPU cooler and fans for the case.
Not everybody minds noise, so it is not necessarily “worth it”.

The reason I take umbrage with that sort of response is because you outright deny there could be a need for a decent cooler, and then acknowledge that in fact – if you want a system which cannot be likened to a herd of angry cattle whilst under load, maybe you do need one.

Any normal person with a normal computer/case etc thats not going to OC can easily use the stock fan and from reading what the guy that made this thread wrote it dosent look like he is going to have more then 1/2 active sata devices and obvi an atx board with a normal case.

Basically, dont go to etf2l for help building a pc.

They are type of people who will have many misconceptions about computer parts. Like thinking you need more than 8gb or ram or more more than 1600hz, or that you need an expensive motherboard if you arent overclocking. They are just people with more money than sense.
just go to http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc , maybe copy someone elses build, and use http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GJBe to etch out a basic build.

Post that pc part picket build you made, tell them your needs and your budget, include a please and thank you in the title and you will get lots of help :D.

PCPartPicker part list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/GL38
Price breakdown by merchant: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/GL38/by_merchant/
Benchmarks: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/GL38/benchmarks/

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor (£95.99 @ Aria PC)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£35.72 @ CCL Computers)

Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£32.99 @ Amazon UK)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5″ 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£50.00 @ Ebuyer)

Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7850 1GB Video Card (£125.68 @ Aria PC)

Case: Xigmatek Asgard II Black ATX Mid Tower Case (£28.31 @ Novatech)

Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£44.31 @ Amazon UK)

Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£12.85 @ Aria PC)

Total: £425.85

Something like that, fairly sure the compatibility is alright but I didnt really look too hard..

The 7850 gpu and the FX-6300 cpu seem to dominate benchmarks in terms of price for power. There are slightly cheaper psu’s available but I thinking paying £5 for a modular psu is more than worth it.

Hurray for literally having nothing to do at work all day!
