As the topic suggests i’m looking for one, that would run tf2 smoothly on at least medium settings at 1680 X 1024 res.
Current specs: 2 gigs of ram
2.4 Ghz dual core proccesor
And some terribad ati graphics card (made for hd videos or something)
Don’t remember the name since i’m not home atm.

With quantums config’s ultra high fps config, fully enabled multicore cfg and omptimised ram it runs from 30 – 80 fps depending on the situation (say if i have 60 fps and i zoom in with the sniper scope i drop instantly to 30 – 40 fps)

I have about spare 260 euros to spend.

Ati HD4870 or 4890 would be fine. I have a feeling anything more powerful will be bottlenecked by that processor.

Buy a new Radeon 5770 or 5830. Should be enough. But keep in mind that, tf2 pretty much uses only your cpu.

until you start to add antialiasing ect. bling bling to the game. But I must agree on other parts with Septique.

I do know that tf2 is mainly cpu based and uses mainly 1 core, but i think that the cpu i have atm should do fine.

If it still drops fps i have a good quad proccesor already, but that one is with a PC thats in repair service atm.

will have a look on those gfx cards ASAP
