obviously not on 1080p

with the right fps config you can run tf2 on an electric toothbrush and still get decent fps

Im pretty sure 60 fps can be pulled with anything above 300€

the problem with notebooks (esp. cheap ones) is overheating so you never gonna know how hot it’s going to be until you try it, so some cooling pad would be needed as well i guess

Cooling pads are useless, imagine yourself blowing air at your pc case if it’s overheating inside – useless. Only thing you need to do is make sure you have enough clear space for clean air to go in. Good idea is to get a laptop which has air intake on side. Other than that its a lottery.

bought a asus notebook for 900 euro or something (whoops) 3-4 years ago, it’s slighty overheated while i play tf2 and it runs smooth with a fps config (capped @ 120fps).

bought a cooling pad just to allow more air to the air intake on the laptops left side, dunno if it made a difference :-)

not sure if u will find a decent notebook for 500 euro

this is evil evil

For all things gaming laptops, go here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html – This will give you a good overview about graphics cards and what they can do.

TL;DR
Don’t buy a laptop that only has an onboard graphics card like Intel ones. Don’t buy a laptop with an AMD CPU.
