Hey, if there’s anyone here, who knows about the stuff in the topic name, I’d like some help.

I need to set-up surveillance for a cafe, and to do so I figured I’d go with IP cameras with PoE. But, I need a way to make the video availible for viewing live AND for it to be recorded on HDD aswell.

So here’s the question: what hardware and software would I need in order for such a setup to work, and also is there a point of using IP cams at all? They say they are still more expensive, than analogue survey cams, but I thought that easy-to-install and PoE is not something one should neglect.

Also, does NVR software enable me to record the video from IP cams to an HDD and if yes, what software would you suggest.

I sure hope there’s someone here who was stalking people for years and has a shitload of knowledge about all this stuff!
