Ugh…this is going to hurt. You published a file called cp_sunshine_rc6 and changed the file after release and didn’t change the mapname. Now we’re going to have a ton of people with version mismatches since http://fakkelbrigade.eu/maps is the downloadurl of quite a few servers, including TF2Center.

Is there really no way to take the old version off of fakkelbrigade? Ugh. If it’s that much of a problem then I guess I really have to recompile as rc6b.

Terribly sorry for the mess I created. This feels horrible, ugh. I really would rather put out rc7 or something instead but I don’t want to confuse people more than I already am. Again I’m really sorry. I’ll be taking the download links down so I can figure out something.

were the changes to the map really that bad?
there weren’t really many changes between the “old” rc6 and the “new” rc6. just minor bugfixes. I’m recompiling an RC7 because I don’t want people to be on my case about two different RC6s floating around. I don’t know why I didn’t recompile as rc6a or something initially. Sorry about that.

Oh my bad haha. I don’t like the changes to last at all if I’m honest. I think that the left hand side from the attackers’ perspective on last is even less easy to get into without popping or getting stuck there. And from the defenders’ perspective there’s now a big sniper sightline from left all the way into that left entrance. The props make things much more difficult to manoeuvre around on the right hand side too, although I appreciate making the ramps easier to navigate, it was complicated before.

Just my two cents, but I liked the previous last point so I’m less keen for change than others. I do think you’ve opened it up to defensive snipers quite a bit more which isn’t too fun when they sit in spawn and switch off instantly. And the left hand side is harder to push into last from now because the choke point is the same size and you now have a big load of junk in front of it too. Oh and a sniper can see you a fair way before you get to the choke point :D

Well, I guess that’s a subjective take on it. It’s a new design and while the sightlines have been opened up, the layout should hopefully be less supportive of turtling like the old one was. It’s a jump I was willing to take, it really needs a lot more play before we can objectively say things about it yet. I agree with you in some positions but I also disagree that it’s worse than old last. We will see, I guess.

RC7 is done and up.

I won’t be updating it again for a couple months barring major technical issues, so hopefully this version and filename will be less confusing than that rc6 mess I made.

Is there any chance of getting a visual indicator of the “no fun allowed” player clip in valley/flowers/whatever people call it. I don’t understand why it’s there in the first place but it’s still there 5 versions later so I guess it’s not negotiable, but it’s super annoying having to remember where an invisible wall is in the middle of a very jumpable area.

Huge problem with the map at the moment it would seem. After playing sunshine rc7 on one server and then moving to another, i was greeted with this in many areas of the map

Actually that’s not a problem caused by that specific map as far as I know.
It happened several times to me (when I switched servers) with the spire on badlands, same thing, I could see through it. And with other maps too.
