Hi all,

Some questions about the rules remain uncleer for me :

1. What exactly is th Stopwatch Mode in dustbowl ? Does this mean that the team which caps the flag the fastest wins in case of a 6-6 draw ?

2. How will the maps be picked in S2 ? Will this be the regular Map Elimination System or can every team pick the map they want ?

Thanks for an answer !!

yes, just map pick is broken atm, you will be able to pick maps during the coming week, we will keep you informed in the news.

The stopwatch scoring; will the time needed to cap count through all the 3 stages or will just the speed/time of the last stage count?

i dont know why did u submit this rule… a team have a certain amount of time to get al the cps (that’s the mission objective…), if you take more time then the other team is the same…the important is to finish the mission
so: 6-6 = 1 point each team… dont you think=?

getting a draw on dustbowl is too easy, thats why we got stopwatch

dustbowl normally is like undefendable, 95% of the results would be a draw probably.

not like on gravelpit, which is quite hard to defend aswell, but much easier doable. so no stopwatch there.

though stopwatch on gravel is greatly requested!!!! :>

i dont really get your point day!

defending on gravelpit is really hard – 2 teams with an even skill level on this map will probably never achieve a defense victory.

stopwatch is much more fair – because you actually get rewarded for defending good / attacking good.

taking into account that most ppl will probably choose grana/well/badlands/turbine instead of gravelpit, there wont be much gravelpit matches and therefore the admin work would be minimal.

and – the most unfair thing i can think of, is choosing gravelpit as a draw map, to get more points against a stronger opponent. gravelpit almost always results in a draw, and when you are quite good at attacking, you dont really need to care about your defense when you only have the goal to achieve a draw against a stronger opponent.

We almost lost season 1 because united chose dustbowl against us, which resulted in a draw. If 4 teams decide to choose gravelpit against us now, its almost impossible for us to win the league, because of 4 draws (and we will probably lose some maps too).

Compared to other teams on our skill level, whos opponent does not pick gravelpit – but a much more open map – i find it really unfair…

i quote Riemu for truth

gravel should be stopwatch just like dustbowl is.

there really should be an edit option…

here’s an example of sorts from this season. It’s div5 though and i dont know how gravel went timewise but i think the basic idea still applies as an example…

as you can see, erdnuckels won well pretty decisively, and had the other map been grana/badlands , they probably would have won the whole match. But with gravel being a tie now, they didnt get full points. In the long run this might cost them, if the division rankings are tight pointswise.

yes… stopwatch in both gravelpit and dustbowl, or not in both… not 1 yes and 1 no… thats crazy

I will have to agree on gravelpit stopwatch. This map is ideal for stopwatch mode I was suprised to see that it was not a stopwatch. As it has been said there is no point to try to make a good defence if your team has a good offence since you will get a tie and thus can play ties against the better clans and pick wins from the clans that are below you.
