I will probably do this and get the train from Vilnius to Kaunas, takes about an hour and a half.
saying that, kaunas is only £4 more, but really early in the morning

norwegian airlines are fairly cheap
malmo – vilnius with wizzair
cph – vilnius with SAS youth tickets is cheap as chips

karlshamn – klaipeda by ferry is 1350.

Klaipėda is pretty far away from Kaunas. If you don’t mind spending 4 hours in a trip, then awight.
