Audio/video settings not being saved

I have some issues with a few settings in both audio and video in TF2. For e.g. I change to “Headphones” instead of “2 Speakers” in Audio and in video I change to turn bloom on and to enable color correction.

None of those settings are saved because when I restart the game they’re back to default. I’ve tried my config with both “Read-only” on and off and it has made no difference. What to do to fix this?

What’s in your launch options for TF2?

This is what it looks like:

-console -sw -noborder -novid

Norris

make sure your config.cfg is not set to read-only.

might also be an autoexec.cfg resetting them again.

Dont add things to your config.cfg add them to your autoexec.cfg

Try this one.

Rename your config.cfg+autoexec.cfg and start TF2. It will create a new one
If the problems is still there its not some of your configsettings ;)

Wuff

I’ve got the exact same problem.

Have the same issue, but mine is down to the game crashing when exiting the game, so the settings won’t save…

Hm i heard from the “-autoconfig” command as Launchoptions.
It reset TF2 completly to the default.
Deletes all and everything that is not in the official release

But i never tried it. Maybe this would help you.
But dont forget your Backup if you try…

I tried that and moved my custom binds to autoexec.cfg instead. However, the problem still persists.

Are you running your game on dx8?

That is rubbish, it doesn’t delete anything, it only resets your config files to default. So all you want to backup is your cfg folder.

Wuff

I don’t think it has to do with some configs.
I downloaded the whole game, added no autoexec.cfg and I’ve got the same problem.
In my opinion it’s some bug
