It use to be big, with teams like Highpander, IAG, Kill Switch and SNSD. Just look at the past seasons. Then look at Season 13. What happened?

Well this season, most teams have just played back to back ETF2L seasons over Autumn and Winter so playing in Wireplay doesn’t appeal. We played one season when we formed our team, wasn’t any ETF2L tournament for most of it so it worked out for us, but when it was alongside ETF2L for a lot of it and playing both leagues was too much.

Still a great league, I would recommend them for any team to join (long as they stick to best maps with 1 or 2 experimental maps) but teams tend to prioritise certain leagues. We go ETF2L > Wireplay > UGC in that order.

These sort of threads are cluttering all the quality content on the ETF2L forums

hahaha good laugh

We had fun in Wireplay when we played. Decent price pool. Good practice. Had panda and ks in there so good competition.

We all played Wireplay back in season 10-11 i believe . In my opinion the other leagues have kinda been regarded as practice for etf2l, but a lot of the players in the top prem teams play 6s as well and playing etf2l, ugc, wireplay and 6s at the same time can really burn you out. Competition was really fierce between these 3 teams so there was always good games.

When ETF2L decided to “unlock” the prem division in season 5 these 3 teams have had 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for two seasons now, which shows how bored the undefeated SNSD must have been in a group noone ever entered nor could rival them, exception being Daroutoutou once in a while.

Love b0nes though <3 Done a good job with his league.

Both are fair points.

Also, this season has had a lot less pull than others, resulting in smaller leagues, lower quality and such. Bubble bobbler decided to step up and make an all-star prem team, as well as a few other teams like Team Russia or Eerie Sprites.
Unfortunately, since there weren’t many teams willing to spend their June and/or July on playing Highlander, the prize pot has been reduced as well.

It still can bring up some entertainment though, especially Div1 IMO (might be biased cuz I’m playing there as well B))
