Thats fucking useless. If your friend gets phished, then what?

Tip 1: Don’t login with steam details in any page other than steam itself. Use browser only if you know what you are doing.
Tip 2: Don’t open any files, even if they are sent from friends. And even if they are .jpg

The two ways i know of how people can get phished are:
1: they give login details themselves by logging into fake steam from browser
2: they give login details after downloading/launching keylogger

Feel free to add any other ways.

Believe ir or not there are people who actually fall on those, especially on those steam fake phishing sites, that method is so old and known and people are still getting phished on those…

If you follow the link, it will prompt you to download an .scr file.

In order to get phished by this method, you need to:

1. Ignore the fact that all browsers (including IE) display real .jpg files in the browser instead of offering to download it to your computer.
2. Click “yes” to download an scr file when the link said jpg
3. Ignore the fact that the icon for the file you just downloaded is completely different from the icon for JPG files on your operating system.
4. Ignore the warning from your browser and/or Windows regarding running unknown executable files from the internet. You supposedly downloaded a jpg image, why is Windows warning you about some executable? Must be an error in the browser/operating system!
5. Ignore the UAC elevated rights prompt you’ll get when you attempt to run it. Windows is requesting admin rights to open a .jpg file? What could possibly be wrong!

This seems like an awful lot of reckless steps to go through just to look at the screenshot of a hat some stranger linked you over the internet. I can’t help but feel that scammers like this perform natural selection on TF2 players.
