Each thursday one night cups will be held for highlander on our new steam group :)

We ran the first one as a test for 8 teams tonight and it seemed to run smoothly and people enjoyed themselves so we intend to carry on!

You can find the group here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2cups/

You can find our new cup on koth_pro_viaduct_rc3 here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2cups/discussions/0/864970667852727648/

Thanks!

Take some time and though into making the groups so results won’t all be 5-0 in 5min.

Sadly this was the issue in the test cup due to the small size (8 teams) since I restricted it to test out the format. Hopefully next week will be better with 16 teams split up into two tournaments of 8 (so a high and low bracket).

If you have any other feedback see the thread @ the group :)

Thanks!

Wasn’t it silver/plat only?

Skillwise yes, this was only to because the original test cup was 8 teams and we didn’t want the skill to be too diverse. It’ll be open to Steel teams too soon :)

Great initiative, could always use some more highlander cups :)

Cheers

We’ve been running these for a couple of weeks now. But, signups for the most recent ones have been low, especially for the higher tiers. So, I thought I would bump this thread to try and attract some attention.

We’ve mostly had Platinum/Silver teams signup, but Steel teams are more than welcome to signup too.

So far, we’ve been running the upcoming UGC map, so that people can get some practice in before their officials. Following that trend, we will be running another cup on Lakeside. It will be Thursday 18th July and will start at 20:00 CEST.

The link for this weeks signup thread is here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2cups/discussions/0/864973124136798146/

Well, none of the “higher tiers” are particularly interested in UGC summer and just want to play some videogames.
(Personally I would even say the entire summer season turned out to be rather disappointing)
If you keep running this cup for the next ETF2L/UGC season you’ll see more interest from the better teams.

All of the ugc summer seasons are the same.

At least in the last one we got to play some custom maps, this time everyone forces us to play standard maps~

^ I fully agree, this UGC Summer Season doesn’t feel like a Summer Season at all when most of the teams rather play the standard maps instead of newer custom maps.
