Surely not… Maybe others are just trying to hide the VAC ban so they don’t get banned on etf2l… Ya know, leaving quietly and coming back with a different account without stirring shit up.

If any of them get caught, their bans will be doubled. Though if they’ve actually used OpenPlugin despite all the warnings, they probably get a kick out of waiting for bans anyway.

Can you clarify this? Afaik you only get more lengthy bans if you’re caught bypassing an already existing ban. If you make a new account now to play with before the banpost then they’ll both be banned but no extra time.

I think we are talking about bypassing two different things here, the ETF2L ban and the VAC ban. ETF2L just bans you from the ETF2L not from playing TF2.

Accounts made before the banpost won’t result in extra time, though they will be banned along with the main account, if we are aware of them.

However, if anyone VAC’d in the recent wave continues to play on an alt account and his identity is confirmed later, they will receive a doubled ban.

Regardless of when your account was made, if you are aware of your own TF2 VAC ban and ETF2L’s policy on VAC bans, then by continuing to play in the league, you are knowingly bypassing the ban.

The ban is from ETF2L, not the entirety of Team Fortress 2. We don’t wish VAC banned cheaters to come back under another account until they’ve “served their sentence”. If Valve does not mind VAC banned players making new accounts and continuing to play TF2, that’s Valve’s business.

However, please do not create alternative accounts if you’ve been banned from the league. You will still be able to visit the site and post on the forums with your main account, and when your ban expires, admins will change your Steam ID on request. There is no reason to make alt accounts other than to bypass a ban, hence they’ll be banned on sight.
