is there any way to fix the fogginess?

I’m using Chris’s dx9 frames, I’m not getting any fog but for some reason the player models look really flat. The lighting has just really fucked up for some reason, and it’s only on the player models :(

Anyone know how to fix it?

Only -dxlevel 95 fixes it, and that also means I have to run the game at dxlevel 95 which gives me a shitty frame rate.

-dxlevel 90 changes nothing.

To explain it a little better, the player models either have lit or shaded areas, there is no gradient in between. Also when a player moves from a shaded area to a lit area their entire model will either become brighter or darker, there is no transition. Where as when the lighting used to be smooth, there would be gradients between the lit and shaded areas on the models.

I managed to find an old screenshot that will hopefully make the difference obvious.

It’s a known issue, check the other thread here. Valve said on the Steam forums that they’re working on fixing it, and they might add it in as an option.
