All star players wont come play TF2 after this event. Imho you should focus on the low skilled css/quake etc players who’r up for a change.

and yeah.. 1 tf2 player to help them out would be cool.
We’re at the starting blocks thus far, Ashkan.
Trying to get in touch with certain multigaming institutions right now, to see if there’s willingness. What would be the best? A tournament? a showmatch?

Tournament + showmatch afterwards
Get 2 equally matched prem teams as showmatch.
(TCM vs sg-1 or maybe diggy?)

That’s if you’re trying to get those specific participants to come over, which might be unlikely. Getting top players means more publicity, with low-skilled players (hopefully) spectating, rather than participating. With low-skilled players playing, we’d probably not get a lot of specs.

well a tournament would be better… if only there are enough people willing to give tf2 a shot. :) if not a showmatch is also fine.
What setup would the showmatch have? What would make it different from regular cup matches, with the Quake team playing the CSS team etc?
omg you don’t want the “all star players” you want the fan boys who watch the game and say :”ohh tf2 looks funny lets try it”, ultimate attention from 2 other games!
btw. i think its easier to get 10 good players for 1 game than say 120 “noobs” for a whole tournament!
Yeah, a showmatch/tournament is what we’ll be aiming for. More fun to spectate, easier to organise.

Those players (probably) won’t play tf2 afterwards, no. But they áre the ones being watched in their resp. communities. Not a single quake player would take a second look at ‘Pinkz0r2987 & his shitterfriends @ tf2 showmatch/cup’
Add in (eg) Strenx & his broskis and people will watch it, just because it are the people they look at/admire.
On top of that, I think it might set off something like a ‘contest’ to see which game is ‘the best’, which would hype up communities (even) more (Competition ís what drives the..well.. competitive communities, no?)
Either way, though something like this would be really amazing imo, I have my doubts with it being something that can be pulled off, especially on such short notice (free week is right now, isn’t it?)

Yea we are going to try and organize some sort of free tournament. Anyone wanna lend a hand join #tf2free. Atleast one with decent skillz0rs in english is needed to make an initial hype post to spread around.

Make some thread in steam forums even or anywhere else(like with all the information about the match, how to contact, what to do), ask valve and other websites to advertise the link (to the main post) like in their blog etc so everyone can see it. Then just wait and see if anyone is keen to play.
Just my thoughts
