So I’ve been told multiple times to change my interp. The real problem here is that everyone tells me to get another interp, lol. So, which interps for projectiles and hitscan on decent internet (30-40 average latency, 121fps stable). I’m sick and tired of guessing the right interp and now I just want to get it right. Some people say your lerp should be equal to your FPS and some say its ping/2×3+5-1 or some shit I dont even..

And just one last question: lets say the interp for projectiles is A and for hitscan its B. Should I bind cl_interp A to my rocket launcher and cl_interp B to my shotgun or should I just leave it the way it is?

Thanks in advance =).

I use 0152 for projectiles as they’re not too slow or too fast for
me

.0333 is pretty decent for hitscan I like it alot

You can just put em in your config, that way you dont have to bind anything :)

hope I helped you out

Btw, got some sniping i want you to edit

Newbie question here – how to make a different interp command executed when I switch to a weapon? In other words, solly interp config plz.

Septique

All the super ruskies use 0.01 and they have the worst connections out there, so lets use that.

TF2Mate comes with a crosshair switcher that allows scripts like this.

this isn’t counterstrike

interp doesn’t matter!

Net settings for good connections:

cl_cmdrate "67"
cl_interp "0.016" // Change to 0.024 for hitscan
cl_interp_ratio "1"
cl_lagcompensation "1"
cl_pred_optimize "2"
cl_smooth "0"
cl_smoothtime "0.01"
cl_updaterate "67"
rate "60000"

Net settings for moderate or bad internet connections:

cl_cmdrate "40"
cl_interp "0.025" // Change to 0.0375 for hitscan
cl_interp_ratio "1"
cl_lagcompensation "1"
cl_pred_optimize "2"
cl_smooth "0"
cl_smoothtime "0.01"
cl_updaterate "40"
rate "35000"

So depending on your updaterate, adjust it to be round:0.01(1/upd) for projectile or 1.50*(round:0.01(1/upd) for hitscan.

cl_interp = cl_interp_ratio / cl_updaterate

In theory. Not in practice.

I have used Chris’s net settings and well for me they didn’t work as well.

projectiles – cl_interp .02
hit scan – cl_interp .033
