This is a config-based tool I’ve created to help people improve general trick jumping skills for soldier only (skipping, power skipping, walljumping, strafing and all-round rocket jumping). Don’t look at this as just a TF2 jump movie, the package as a whole is there to learn from. The movie is there simply as a visual aid.
The way the tool works is simple, you place jump_badwater.cfg and jump_badlands.cfg into your tf/cfg folder. Load TF2 and exec either of the configs. The respective map will load. You then use the numpad keys 0-9 to set your starting position according to the jump you would like to practice from the movie (they are all numbered). A brief description will be displayed in chat (using the say command) of how to complete the jump along with it’s movie timestamp and number. Of course this will overwrite any binds you have for numpad keys. See README for solutions and other useful information if you do not like the bind layout.
As you will see from the movie I used some of the jumps from hurtme -999 along with my own I created. Originally this project was going to be configs only but due to ingame being limited in terms of jump description I later had to make the movie to illustrate what you should be performing, I couldn’t exactly not put the jumps in.
I’ve tried to keep the jumps realistic in terms of how practical they are to use during games, however some more complicated ones were added because they were fun to learn.
I held off putting this in the movie section because it’s more than just a movie. I also have not uploaded to youtube because people will probably watch the movie and ignore the configs. This may change if the demand for a youtube link is worth it.
Package is 150mb, movie is 10k bitrate and 2 minutes long.

I’ve been trying to get hold of some FB guys to see if they’ll allow me to host it on their FTP, but no luck yet =/
What issues are you having with the current two?

Why didnt you put the vid on youtube and only put the two 2kb cfg-files in the zip?

Waster, I explained why I didn’t want to do that. Plus youtube sucks, I didn’t make a HQ movie for people to stream it in 360p. It’s also easier to have the movie play in VLC or whatever to skip to different jumps rather than having it on youtube. It’s only 150mb :P

Download isnt really that slow. took me like two minutes.
The numpad keys 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9?
After executing the configs type ‘bind kp_end’ in console and it should tell you what command is bound to the key. Do you have anything in solder.cfg that will overwrite the binds after jump_whatever is loaded? Also for jump_badlands the only keys available are 1 – 8 because I didn’t have enough jumps.
