That light change is probably the addition of r_avglight “0”, which disables light averaging.

but dont forget i have these things added to cfg,
no fps limit
mouse and fov options
prec options
all should be easy to notice, buttom of cfg
and a little net option tweaks

yeah i noticed :)

i’m very sure it was the mipmapping that i fucked up on. fps should be good again now.

can i run it by adding at the end of autoexec.cfg
exec chris_highframes.cfg
?
as i would like do some testing, and changing 1 line is more convenient than changing whole file :)

also i’v got an issue when using your cfg, when i die for the first time, the death cam shows %killername% not the playername
next deaths are ok

a question; as i quickly applied the *frames config without changing my launch options (registry and game show that i use dx95, in launch options i dont have any dxlevel option)
i’v got very stupid graphics, some bright white lights on players : link
is it the result of not changing to dxlevel 80 or what?
i would like to test/use dx95/98 but with *frames configs

not config related, this is a known HUD bug.

i don’t provide support for running this config out of dxlevel 80, but try mat_bumpmap 1 and r_pixelfog 1. mat_bumpmap 1 should fix that issue specifically.

Yo chris, other day we played your highlander…

I complained about mouselag as a result of using your highframes config. I tried a few things, didn’t work, went ahead and deleted the config, went back to what I had before…still got the mouse lag. Any idea why…?

also if I was to use it again is there a way to stop multicore rendering being enabled everytime I load up TF2? Since I got a dual core somehow it don’t suit.

Hmmm strange, I have the same problem except mine started after using PLDX Recording Tool.

Mouse lag… kinda feels like vsync is on but it’s not. Pretty much unplayable competetively.

I’ve tried autoconfig, reinstalling TF2 and reformatting and it’s still there :(

uninstall all cfg’s

start and quit tf2

install chris cfg

it’s payback for pikachu needing to grow some balls and get to the same level of maturity as blorg.

but seriously, the fact that it’s still like that afterwards makes me think it is probably not related to the config.

do what animal suggests, if that doesn’t work, maybe try completely wiping the cloud data by uploading when your dir is empty

The first is a mat_specular + dx8 bug which could be really easily fixed by Valve (even sent an email to Robin saying how to fix it, but he’s never responded). It’s not a problem with my configs.

The second I cannot reproduce.

will decrease ur fps by around 10-15
