After Romania, Ukraine and Hungary signed up recently, we got 23 National Teams ready to play the biggest Nations’ Cup in TF2 history.

Nations’ Cup Sign-Ups are closing this Saturday, 5^th July, at 23:59 CET.

All rosters will be closed and the Pre-Round Fixtures between smaller countries who will face each other for a Group Stage spot will be announced. A big Live IRC Drawing for our Nations’ Cup Group Phase will take place on Sunday, 13^th July, at 19:00 CET.

More Nations’ Cup information will be announced on Sunday.

Quite a lot Top Matches were being drawn: 4 out of 6 remaining UK teams have to fight each other; Dead Cows Strike Back will try beating Division 1 Team The Last Resort - the little team of Weapons of the Rebelion 3 will have to play against their big brother Weapons of the Rebelion 1.

Beside these we will have a match between Division 4a Champion Totally Totalitarian and Division 5a Champion Clones-Inc. Our Cup-Holders 4 Kings will meet Division 4b Champion and last remaining Latvian team FOG.

Yep, that’s it! After 2 months and 18 days our 2^nd Season is finished and archived! You can find final Tables in our Hall of Fame now. [Link]

With our 2^nd Season closing we already started our new main tournament of this summer: The 1^st ETF2L Nations’ Cup. A general overview about the system (and Group Phase Maps) can be found at our blurb page. [Link]

Round 1 - Dates and Details

• Schedule Deadline: Friday, 27^th June, 23:59 CET
• Notice: You may play your game spontaneous without adding a date to the Calendar. But you will have to add a date if your game isn’t played by the Schedule Deadline.
• Game Deadline: Tuesday, 1^st July, 23:59 CET
• All players have to record Demos of all Rounds and keep them for at least 7 days.
• Both teams/players are supposed to do a status screenshot before game starts and a final scoreboard screenshot in the end of every Round. One team/player will have to submit all screenshots together with the result.
• Be fair and gently to each other. Always remember these competitions are called “Fun Cups”.

Pyro Update

After some internal and public discussion [Link] we decided to allow the new Pyro Weapons. Beside that we are adding cp_fastlane to our official Map-Pool (for 3^rd Cup, Season 3 & Nations’ Cup).

• Backburner, Flaregun, Axtuinguisher are allowed to use in all competitions.
• cp_fastlane added to the official Map-Pool for Nations’ Cup, 3rd Cup and Season 3.

We also noticed some good changes at ctf_well and will probably add this map to the Map-Pool in a near future.

Due to our League Rules („If two teams are tied in points for a position at the end of the season they will play a Playoff-Game for final position.”) there will be two Playoff Games:

Nations’ Cup Sign-Up Phase

Due to Season 2 Playoff Games we will open our Nations’ Cup Sign-Ups next Wednesday, 25^th June, at 0:00 CET.

All National Team Contact Persons have been mailed with more information about the Cup and Sign-Up instructions to register their National Team at the site. Please check your mails if you haven’t read them yet.

TF2 Pyro Update

Most people will already have noticed Valve released the new Pyro Update with a Free TF2 Weekend for everybody. [Link]

We will have a look at all additions and changes. It’s forbidden to use any new Pyro Weapon in any ETF2L Game until we announce something else.

As ctf_turbine has been added as official map this version is supposed to be used from now.

Our new player system is running smooth; we are counting almost 500 player registrations in the first two days. Please be sure you are fixing your teams’ roster soon (especially if you are participating in an active competition like 3^rd Cup or a Fun Cup).

Don’t forget it will take 24 hours before someone is added to a teams’ roster.

Fun Cup Sign-Ups

Our Fun Cup Sign-Ups running smooth so far, we are counting 38 Sign-Ups for our Soldier 1on1 Cup and 40 teams for the Basketball 2on2 Cup at the moment. You haven’t signed up yet but would like to play in one of the Fun Cups? Have a look at the Sign-Up Instructions. [Link]

We will start verifying Sign-Ups from the Waiting List from tomorrow on. If your fun team hasn’t enough registered members yet, you should add your mate soon to have a safe spot in the cup.

Thanks for about 300 people who took part in our last Live IRC Drawing on Sunday. All fixtures are up on our site now. [Link]

Our IRC Bot ETF2L drew some very interesting games for this 2^nd Round (out of 7 total rounds). The biggest highlights are probably French Top Team Team wL meeting Excello, fresh born Division 1 climber last one alive lock the door playing vs. Weapons of the Rebelion and the most improved Russian team of the last months dmg are going to fight misChief, an American highskilled team!

FAQ + Challenge System + League config changes

As some people probably already noticed we had some clean up and rewrite at our FAQ. [Link] We please you to always have a look at our FAQ first before contacting an admin. We have also added important dates and details about all competitions there. We will have another clean-up at our Rules during this week.

We have also added a new Challenge System:

• If you fail reaching your opponent to schedule a match, you are supposed to use our Challenge System: (Link)
• If your opponent isn’t reacting on the challenge in between 4 days, a Default Win will be entered for your team.

New Admin: Buteille

After some applications we found another addition for our staff: Buteille from thai#WHINE joined us and will especially help all French players if they have any problems/questions. Our team is now completed for our upcoming events in the next months.

A lot of work has been done in the background and we are glad to announce a major internal change in our Player-System. Our site admin ST8 worked out a new system which finally manages us to have a clear Database of all active Team Fortress 2 players.

General overview of new Player System:

• Every active playing TF2 player got his own profile [Screen]
• Registered players can update their profile with details [Link]
• Every player has to enter his SteamID at the profile
• Once you have entered your SteamID, you are able to join/leave registered teams/fun teams
• You will be added to a teams’ roster after 24 hours
• Unregistered players have to register at the site or get registered by his team leader (see next point)
• If players are too lazy to register, team leaders are able add players to their team by creating an account for them [Link]
• Team leaders need to accept players that have asked to join their team at roster page “Edit Players”. Team leaders need to re-add their entire squad

We are using our old Player-Database as backup for the upcoming games and ask all teams to sort out their roster within the next 2 weeks, at which point the new rosters will be shown. If there are any bugs or problems please contact an admin.

After last Sunday’s showmatch Coverage between Europe’s best TF2 team 4 Kings and American’s top team Frag Dominant we are happy to announce another coverage for tonight!

Pwnage.TV will cover Division 2a Week 9 Match between last one alive lock the door (current position: 3^rd) and Weapons of the Rebelion 2 (current position: 6^th). With Division 2a still being very open, on the one hand it’s farm! still have possibility to get on 1^st or 2^nd position if they manage to win both maps and Extensia or Knights losing at least 1 map in their last game. On the other hand, Weapons of the Rebelion 2 still have to worry about finishing at a relegation place if they lose their last games.

Any kind of draw won’t help anyone, so both teams will have some hard fight for a clear win on both maps which they have to go for.

First of all thanks for the big positive feedback we got for announcing this tournament. We are happy many countries are looking forward to play the tournament. Yes it’s true, our official Deadline for all Season 2 Games is tonight, 23:59 CET. But of course we are having some exceptions with 4 games being scheduled for a later dates. It will be ok for these; still no more postponements are allowed for any Season 2 Game.

All games will have to be entered by coming Wednesday, 23:59 CET. We will publish a big “Ending News” shortly after and of course we will also have some Season Awards again.

Tonight the last important Season 2 Division 1 Game between Excello (current position: 2^nd) and Clan United (current position: 3^rd) will take place. Excello needs to win both maps to get tied in points with current 1^st placed team 4 Kings. Clan United can take their chance and become 2^nd by beating Excello on both maps. We are looking forward to a great thrilling match.

Our partner QuadV.com will cover this Top-Match with a live video-stream and commentary by Deman and A_Spec! Their show will start at 21.15 CET, game is supposed to start at 21:30 CET.

Tourney of the summer: Big ETF2L Nations Cup coming up!

Today we are happy to announce the probably most wanted competition of the last months: The ETF2L Nations Cup! About 16 different National Teams will fight their way through the competition during July and August!

System will be equal to current running Football EM 2008 with 4 Groups à 4 Teams, Top 2 of each Group going to the Playoffs. If we reach more than 16 teams, we will have a Pre-Round between smaller countries.

The following countries have confirmed their participation already:

• France
• Sweden
• Finland
• UnitedKingdom
• Spain
• Portugal
• Latvia

Beside that we are already in contact with National Teams from Russia, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.

Still we are missing some organized National Teams from potential gaming countries like USA, Canada, Austria, Italy, Poland, CzechRepublic, Norway, Denmark and Luxembourg (also any other countries from any continent are welcome of course). Feel free to contact us if you have any information about a possible National Team or persons who could become in charge building some team up.

We decided for the following team/member rule for National Team’s roster:

• “A national team can field a maximum of 3 players of 1 team at a time.”
• “A national team must field members of at least 3 different teams.” (Exception for smaller countries will be worked out)
