When hype turns into reality…

ETF2L is proud to announce, that the signups for the Highlander LAN in Germany from 11th – 13th September opened today! If you and your team wish to register >>> click here <<<.

The link will direct you to the website of MTA, where the teamleader (and only the teamleader) will fill out the form. He/she will also be responsible for collecting the money and transferring the funds to MTA. Signups are not run through the ETF2L website! Only Highlander-, LAN- and Funteams using this form above with an ETF2L- teamprofile and 9 players on their roster will be eligible to play at the LAN. Please copy-paste your teamprofile as your “team website” on the form. As soon as your signup is confirmed by MTA, we will contact the team. Since only 8 players are allowed to stay in one house overnight, we will have two additional houses. The 9th player is supposed to be above the age of 18. But do not worry: you will still be able to play in the same house with your team, this is literally just for overnight purposes!

But wait- What the hell is DeutschLAN sponsored by TF2Center.com? What is he talking about?

In the unlikely event you have never stumbled across DeutschLAN sponsored by TF2Center.com before, we are providing you with everything you need to know:

When?

11th – 13th September 2015.

Where?

Natur-Ferienpark Am Holsterturm, 33039 Nieheim, Germany (duuhhh).

What?

A group of enthusiastic gamers, a bunch of Germans and Netherlands kKaltUu, together with the owners of MTA are hosting a Highlander LAN. As opposed to other LAN-events (for instance Insomnia), this one takes place in a park. Gaming, eating, sleeping- everything at the same place. No extra booking of hotel rooms, no transfers to the place you stay overnight. You literally play TF2 and then go upstairs to catch a nap!

Make sure to sign up as soon as possible, as we only accept 16 teams! The first 16 to register will be able to play. However, we withhold the right to reserve four of those spots for Premiership Teams. Yeah, you heard me… The elite of European Highlander will participate. Another reason why you shouldn’t miss this!

As for now, we can only guarantee 9 players of each team to participate. Unfortunately at this point of time back-ups and “travelers”, meaning people that don’t want to play but watch, are not allowed to stay there overnight. This may change depending on the numbers of signups.

On the topic of underaged players (<18):

We said some weeks ago, that there can only be one minor in every house. This was a MISUNDERSTANDING with the guys from MTA. However every tenant needs to be at least 18 years of age, and has to check that every minor in the house has a guardian. These are requirements from the MTA organisers.

German law is pretty strict, and we can’t assure you that every information we give you is 100% correct. Every Guardian has to be at least 18 years old. The minor as well as the guardian have to be sober the whole time.

The PARENTS, the GUARDIAN as well as the MINOR HIMSELF need to SIGN a document that states that:

  • the guardian is a legal guardian by the minor’s parents’ permission for the whole duration of the journey (insert dates), as well as the specific participation at the “MTA 94.5 TF2”
  • the minor’s pc is free of viruses or illegal content, as well as content that is not suitable for minors.
  • neither of the two LAN participants is going to drink alcohol/ be intoxicated
  • the minor can sleep two nights from 11th September until 13th September at the Natur-Ferienpark in Nieheim, Germany.

The document also needs to contain copies of the minor’s, the guardian’s as well as the parents’ passports.

We are trying to provide you with an official form ASAP. All information on this topic is errors and omissions excepted. We do not legally claim that the information given above is complete and correct.

How do I get to this place?

By car. We advise everyone to pick up a buddy or two and drive to DeutschLAN. It keeps you mobile and is by far the easiest way to transport your setup. You can also take a flight to nearby airports like Cologne, Paderborn or Dortmund. The place itself does not have a train station, although some smaller ones are nearby (Sandebeck, Steinheim, Altenbeken). We are possibly able to get you to the actual village from those stations via shuttle service.

Unfortunately we cannot provide participants with PC rental. If you are not able to bring your setup, maybe ask a steamfriend (preferably a participant as well) if he/she can lend you a laptop or PC for this LAN. We will open a thread on the ETF2L forums regarding this issue.

What does this cost?

Two nights at LAN cost 85 € per player (all taxes and fees included). There is the possibility of an early arrival on thursday, 10th September for an additional 15 €. If you wish to do so, please contact either Germany foungi or Germany DCS after your team has signed up. Please note that we are not able to refund your payment in case a player cannot participate after all. If you need to change your roster for the LAN after you payed, please figure out a way internally.
Every player has to cover travel cost on his own.

Prizepool

TF2Center.com kindly provides us with a sponsorship for this event. However, we are not able to announce a prizepool yet as we do not know how much money we have at our hands. But there is no need for sad faces… We are planning to run a DeutschLAN sponsored by TF2Center.com fundraiser in order to be able to provide as big of a prizepool as we can. We already have some spectacular showmatches in the pipeline, stay tuned for more information…
If you wish to contribute in any way, feel free to contact any member of our DeutschLAN staff!

There is probably much more to talk about. If you have questions, head over to our official forumtopic. It is updated regularly and will keep you posted.

We have done our part… Now we only need gamers to sign up and DeutschLAN 2015 sponsored by TF2Center.com is gonna happen!

Well, as always, You can do whatever you want, just dont get caught. Unless something happens, nobody will care. :P

These are common rules in any circumstance with minors so the organizations can get rid of the responsibility in case of something bad happens. It works like it has ever worked before, you’re free to do it as long as u dont get caught.

If someone tells them about this x) At this point we all know that our community are willing to give money in a fundraiser to bring the best teams from different continents. It worked in 6s, it will work in HL. Plus I heard americans have more HL enthusiasts than 6s. Im sure we could bring 1 team ^^

except 9 players are more expensive, and it’s harder to actually make 9 guys go and have time at said date. if there’s interest we can try to, but our timid approaches on the topic didn’t suggest that.
