VAC bans: one week left!

VAC bans
A week ago we announced our new VAC ban policy: every player in our league that has a VAC ban and is unable to play on a secured TF2 server will receive a league ban for two years. That means you will not be allowed to participate in any of our tournaments until November 2011. This applies to all participants of our league.
How to prove that you are able to play on a secure TF2 server
If you have a VAC banned account, you have one week left to contact our Anti-Cheat section to prove that you are able play on a secure TF2 server (not HL2 engine banned). Next Sunday (November 8th) everyone who has not contacted us will be banned from our league with immediate effect. You will still be able to unban yourself after next Sunday, by contacting an AC admin.
Proving that you are not banned on the HL2 engine will take no more than five minutes. You can contact an AC admin by querying one of our bots (ETF2L/ETF2L2/ETF2L3) with the new “!acrequest” command. Please be patient when you contact us. If nobody responds immediately, you can try again after some hours.

Whats the point of banning when they cant enter the servers anyway?
November 1st, 2009 at 23:59
true dat, wer. Also, most of them have an “old” ban anyway, so they CAN enter, no need to prove anything there.

deeK, your question is answered in the news post itself:
“You will still be able to unban yourself after next Sunday, by contacting an AC admin.“

Very clever way of banning…….josh, without a reason yet making it look legitimate.
Not only is he the only one affected afaik, but this is also COMPLETELY unenforceable:-
I could have a second steam account that is vac2 banned but if the profile is on private and i don’t let anyone know, etf2l will never know.
Don’t kid yourself folks.

You can see VAC bans even if the community profile is private or not set up.

It’s not like we go through all x thousands of profiles manually, it’s all done by the system.
