Silence before the storm, cheaters galore.

Jokes were made throughout the community about silence around the anti-cheat team. It took us a bit longer this time, because we uncovered a new way of tracking cheaters and stumbled upon a lot more than we could have expected. All playoffs and season places affected by this will be adjusted accordingly, as soon as possible. I will keep it short because the list itself is quite long. The following players have all received a ban of 1 year from all ETF2L activities.
- Kondor - Aimbot
- Tack – Aimbot
- Abra – Aimbot
- Blow – Aimbot
- Duracell – Aimbot
- Pikalash – Wallhack
- Nighthawk – Aimbot
- Sraam – Aimbot
- Berg – Aimbot
- Hohenheim – Aimbot
- Fyr – Aimbot
- Vicii – Aimbot
While researching one of the above mentioned cheaters, we ran into this guy who was using a very blatant aim bot. He is not registered at etf2l (yet), but we decided to be safe in this case and ban him in advance.

guys,the matter at hand no is not about those people..its about the entire season 4 games in thier divisions..it is end season and frankly if u let cheat teams into highter divisions..you shoot yourself in the leg

I saw him in real-time LAN game – same perfomance as in online game.
ETF2L anticheat-team, i hope that was just a mistake. -4,-5 kills from kondor – it’s a normal thing, but using cheats – he’s not that guys to do that!

I’m starting to become a bit sceptical.
Ok, admins, you will not make the proofs public, but how reliable are your proofs ?
A soldier with aimbot (as in the case with Blow) just seems very odd since it wouldn’t help him in any way (unless you can have aimbot just for your shotgun).
I’m not saying you are wrong, but the large number of people claiming they are innocent makes me wonder.

True, I have never tried a cheat for myself (except sv_cheats 1 on my own server for practice).
But how would such a cheat for the soldier work ? Aimbot for the shotgun I can understand, but what about the rocket launcher ?
Homing missiles would be completely obvious, and I have difficulties understanding how an aimbot could lead the target with the RL ?

I ask that because I was suspected of cheat (in an other game) but actually i’ve never cheated, so it is sometimes hard to be sure that someone is cheating or not.

After what people have been saying I’m starting to think admins are basing these bans on playing vs the player, and because they expected a win vs a bad team, and one player suprised them and did extremely well, that they think he hacks and look into his case more (povs etc) and any sort of “dodgeyness” (that even a word?) out of proportion

If any of the admin think that the player doesn’t cheat or isn’t sure, then it won’t get banned. Every admin has to agree.

GJ admins, and PROPERLY ROFLS at a bunch of kids whining their friends freedom despite probably having never seen so much as 10 seconds of first person play from the individual.
Also yeah, I think it may be worth considering punishing teams for housing cheaters. May be unfair that they don’t know, but it will just be all the more incentive to keep an eye on each other and make the admin’s jobs easier.

Just a little story with Winneh and his team in it.
In this week (Monday) my previous team (exS) and me rape Winneh and his team. I had to go so i left the game when i make the fifth back cap and one on my mate substitute me. In this game i play like a god (if you want i’ve the demo in eyes of this match).

The best thing about this thread is that 95% of the replies are from unrelated parties and most of those contain flames and childish stuff. This shitstorm (especially coming from clanmates, sorry for that) is pretty much disappointing, and once again a bleak reflection of what this community has become.
For my part, I stick to the universal rule that any bans may happen at the admins’ discretion, even if their doubts and actions may or may not be founded. And while it might seem unfair to the dozen of erudite, outspoken players here, the rest of the community will definitely be thankful for that.

I’m sure there is a fair way admins deal with it in that theres multiple people who view a demo, but any clip can be seen as ‘aimbot’ etc if you look at it hard and long enough through a lot of clips. How in hell can you complain about your “friends” getting banned? You cant possible be sure they havent cheated once? The only one that you can be sure that never have cheated is yourself, so the only ones complaining in this thread should be the banned, but they almost doesnt say anything, why? Anyone’s flawed, even admins. That’s why I think sharing the “evidence” would be good. Like daf said earlier in pickup2, if an admin came to him suddenly and said “oh, you’ve been banned for cheating, dude” and he wasn’t cheating (as if), then obviously he’d say “show me the proof” and would like to see it.
It being released to everyone means if it’s indisputable evidence, no one will have a problem with it, and there won’t be an argument. I think the etf2l admins are concerned in cases where it’s far more subtle and less discernable that a person cheats, because more people might question the admins’ decision especially since they know just how vague the proof is, and therefore it’s better to have a covert method of labelling cheaters.
That’s why this method shouldn’t be used in the first place, because people will question the credibility, and I implore the etf2l admins to have, as daf said, one admin with cheats or wireframe or whatnot to record a short 1-2 min avi showing suspicious behavior of a suspected wallhack-user, maybe with a short comment. Or show short clips of obvious aimbot usage. I’ve been told that’s what it was like in tfc, so I don’t see *why* a league wouldn’t be able to do that now. Even if they don’t want to, they really should to retain their credibility.
Don’t get me wrong, I applaud catching cheaters, but I don’t know myself if these people are cheaters or not. Some have been sketchy, but some I didn’t suspect at all, and that’s why I’d like to see exactly what the admins base their decision upon, so I can decide for myself. I know if I was wrongfully banned I’d want the admins to show me why and I’d be quite aggravated myself.

It’s plain and simple – people who you think you know to be fair players can turn out to be cheaters. For a small minority, winning and getting recognition as a good player is more important than playing fairly, and whilst for most people the fun that comes with being recognised would be tainted by the knowledge that you cheat, for a small minority it’s worth it, just so they feel like an e-star.
Some people also like running the risk. It’s an added challenge to playing competitively, breaking the rules, seeing how far you can get without being caught. Just because you think you know a person doesn’t mean you REALLY know what goes on in the privacy of their own home, infront of a computer. It’s pretty easy to download cheats, and it can go undetected for a while. Do some of you people seriously expect that your teammate will say one day over Mumble:
“Hey guys, I’m trying out a new cheat today, but don’t tell anyone!”
Ofcourse not – everyone knows that cheating is wrong, so why do loads of you expect you’ll know if a teammate is doing it? All these people who hack know it’s wrong, and that’s why so few of them have replied to this.

I want to tell you my opinion.. We played for first year in etf2l and we won in our division. Suspicious (huh, admins ?). A few days ago we played a matches against SpA and s7… We won against SpA and made a draw against s7.. Who the fuck are we to beat div3 skilled teams… If we play for 1st time here and we win against div3 teams, then we are cheaters… All of this shit is going on because some peoples can’t take a loss. There are some shitheads who are used to win always and when they lose, they think that the other team, who is not at their skill level is cheating.. Shame on you. This is a game – you win, you lose.. You cant always win, and when you lose you can’t accept it…

To be honest a 1 year ban is odd to me.

I personally think everyone is so rude because of the decision made with the Sandman and the fact that the ETF2L admins, in the end, lost the argument and gave in… Personally i think it was a bad decision in the first place (to allow sandman at all) but I think due to the admins giving in to the majority of the community lots of people believe this league is public property and that all our opinions HAVE to come true… The answer is no this is a privately run league by the league admins…
What gives us the right to demand anything off of them?
I dont care if you play in the league or not demanding evidence off them when they have given good reasons why it should not be released is just stupidity…

im ignoring that truth bcoz only I know (well maybe some of my friends) how i play, im not ignoring other bans, but i dont trust them 100% also, maybe bcoz of evidence, maybe something else, but its my choice to trust or not, so as yours. U trust the words and i dont (not always anyway)

Guys, taken from my forum post:
“I realise a lot of people would like to see evidence, won’t agree with decisions etc…I would ask that the team of admins (we appreciate your work) get the community involved, help us understand or at least make a collection of cheating clips? I remember years ago, we would actually record a movie of a player playing, the record the clip again with a wallhack on for example. Can you not do that same technique?”
As techniques for looking for a wallhack and aimbot are totally different, the above shouldn’t be a problem and wouldn’t take you long.

This is real bad coz no standart of detecting aim bot.No any proofs suck shaking cross or mamentally turn 180 or anything that can 100% prove cheats.
Many innocence ppl have ban..Without any reason,jyst their aim looks like cheat..
